WAPPY's Third Showcase
On 11th December, I was invited by Akuba to WAPPY’s third showcase programme, which was held at the London Life Line Academy in West London, WAPPY stands for Writing, Acting, and Publishing Project for Youngsters. The range of acts was impressive, with 'youngstars' aged 10 to 15 years of age performing their individual poems and short stories, and a WAPPY Tale, written by Jai Elis-Cooke in collaboration with the rest of the WAPPY collective: Cinderella with a Twist.
Also on the programme was Acquaye McCalman on keyboard, Georgiana Callen Jackson blowing us away with a trumpet solo and many other talented participants. I particularly enjoyed the final act of WAPPY members singing ‘Feliz Navidad', accompanied with instruments.
Congratulations must go (once again) to Akuba who has developed and enhanced the much needed and ambitious summer project in striking ways inspiring and discovering such talented youngsters who are going from strength to strength.
